Objective:

Create an animation showcasing the 250/275kW string inverter for utility-scale solar system designs, focusing on the inverter’s features and benefits.

Background:

Chint Power Systems Americas sought to highlight the capabilities of their 250/275kW string inverter, particularly its utility in 4.125 MW AC array blocks. The inverter features include up to 12 Maximum Power Point Trackers (MPPTs) and options for either 36 fused or 24 unfused PV string inputs, accommodating diverse system designs and maximizing power efficiency.

Approach:

The animation was to detail the string inverter’s design and functionality within a utility-scale solar system. Emphasis was placed on the following features:

High energy efficiency (up to 99% maximum efficiency and 98.5% California Energy Commission (CEC) efficiency) ensuring optimal power output.

Flexibility in PV string inputs allowing for customized system configurations.

Advanced thermal management to maintain full power capacity up to 42°C, which is crucial for consistent performance in various climates.

Reliability through a transformerless design and active cooling, alongside a standard warranty extendable up to 20 years.

Execution:

Each feature was visualized to demonstrate its contribution to system efficiency and reliability, such as the layout of MPPTs and the inverter’s cooling mechanisms. Interactive elements were included to show the ease of system integration.

Outcome:

The animation effectively communicated the technical specifications and operational advantages of the 250/275kW string inverter, aiding Chint Power Systems Americas in marketing their product to solar plant developers and installers. The detailed visualization of the inverter’s capabilities helped prospective clients understand its value in enhancing solar system performance and reliability, leading to an increased interest and inquiries about the product.
